The safest sharing choice
- Share a specific window, not your whole screen. In Zoom: Share Screen → select the app window (or Advanced → Portion of Screen to frame just an area). In Teams: Share → Window. This avoids exposing other apps.
60-second presenter prep (macOS Sequoia)
- Hide desktop items instantly: System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Desktop & Stage Manager → Show Items: Off (On Desktop).
- Silence notifications: open Control Center → Focus → Do Not Disturb. (You can schedule a “Presenting” Focus later.)
- Grant screen-share permission once if prompted (Zoom/Teams → macOS Privacy & Security → Screen Recording).
Optional polish
- Turn on Zoom → Advanced → Portion of Screen to crop exactly what viewers see.
- Blur your video background in Zoom so the focus stays on content.
Faster with Disguise My App
Before the call, neutralize any sensitive app icons (Messages, Photos-adjacent tools, etc.) so the Dock and Cmd-Tab look professional even if they appear momentarily.
